Moraleja

Brand new Moraleja is a fun and friendly neighbourhood bar in El Arenal. Moraleja in Spanish refers to lessons learned in fables (the morals of the story) and is a play on words using the owners’ surname. Brothers Fernando (kitchen) and José Luis Morales (bar) make a great team and their enthusiasm is infectious. Previously both have worked at different locations of Lola Por Dios, and you can see that this has influenced the style of their bar and also the food.

The short and sweet menu covers a nice range of tasty tapas, with the occasional special of the day. Loved the smoked sardine with ajoblanco and the chistorra “hotdog”.  Need to go back for the  tortilla de patatas (the runny kind!) as the boys are quite proud of that one. Ice-cold beer on tap with a small selection of wines (some sherry wines may be finding their way onto the list soon).
