Bañadera is the sister bar to Luís Blanco Giles’ Salsamento (just around the corner, and a stone’s throw from the Metropol Parasol – AKA Las Setas) and the two bars complement each other nicely. The name is a hommage to the original bar at this location, La Bañera, which was a well-loved local tasca. Luís has transformed it into a cosy and stylish spot, making good use of the floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light. Recently the windows have had a makeover and they now open so it’s almost like sitting outside.
As at Salsamento, the menu is mostly high quality charcuterie, preserved fish, cold tapas, with a few stews and “tostas” rounding things out. The wine menu is short but covers most bases. It’s a great place for a light lunch or a start-off point for your evening tapeo.
