Bar Santa Ana

It’s been awhile since I’ve had one of those “hey, I’m living in Spain!” moments. But Bar Santa Ana has that very natural Spanish feel to it and also a very relaxed neighbourhood bar ambiance. Very noisy, very lively … I stopped myself from taking pics of a group of older gentlemen at the bar who started singing “Viva Las Pensionistas!” after a couple of beers. They made me laugh out loud, but I hesitated lest I came across as one of those guiris who write about “colourful local characters” in a patroninsing manner. But trust me, those guys made my day. Instead I got our very charming barman, David, to pose for a pic.

The food here is very good and also excellent value for money. The bar area is quite cosy, with only three tables, but there is also a pleasant terrace next to the gorgeous Santa Ana church.
