La Azotea – Restaurante y Arroces

Updated May 2026

I have known and loved La Azotea since its inception back in 2009, and I have watched its progress (usually from a bar stool) over the years. A few years ago they moved their flagship restaurant to bigger and brighter premises just around the corner – and also right across the street from their wine & tapas bar La Tienda.  Smart move. More recently La Azotea has renovated both its interior and concept to become La Azotea Restaurante y Arroces, with the focus on made-to-order “arroz en paella”.  I love the new look – the pale walls and light wood tables with cream chairs give the two dining areas a fresh open feeling.

Along with the three rice dishes on the menu (with one changing weekly) there is a good selection of starter plates for sharing, fish and seafood and grilled meats. Favourites include the marinated potatoes topped with fried breaded cuttlefish and oloroso mayo, melt in your mouth tuna belly and whole fried squid. The rice dishes are all excellent (we’ve tried them all!) but we especially enjoyed the most recently weekly special with cuttlefish roe and large grilled red prawns. Excellent service, terrific wine list, fab food… it’s all here.

Their other locations in Sevilla are: La Tienda de La Azotea and La Azotea Vinos & Tapas
