El Traga

Updated December 2017

A stone’s throw from the Plaza Alfalfa, El Traga has recently undergone a transformation. Chef Jesús Rosendo, along with co-owners (and brothers) Manuel & Pedro Adame, have not only doubled its original size and updated the look of the place, there is also a new menu.

As before, the focus is on market-fresh products (so be sure to check out the daily specials). The grilled meats are very good, and we also enjoyed the Ibérico croquetas with truffle cream. The wine list is interesting, though needs to be reprinted as the prices have mostly been rubbed off. Service was also good, but the general ambiance feels more “gastrobar” and less personal than before. I guess that’s progress. Lovely desserts.
