Catalina Casa de Comidas is a combination tapas bar/abacería/restaurant, with a bar in the front section, a spacious dining area in the back, and an ample side walk terrace out front. Sister bar to La Quinta Brasserie next door, both run by Chef Gonzalo Villalba Olivella and maître Alberto Granados, there are a few shared items on the menu, but here there are more tapas on offer. There are also daily specials and seasonal dishes.
A nice touch is the complimentary starters, either a partridge paté or grilled mini chistorras. It’s really a something for everyone menu with an emphasis on traditional Andalusian dishes with a twist. Favourites include the croquetas (three kinds, all excellent), the filled patatas bravas and grilled meats. Good service, nice wine selection.
