Arte y Sabor

arte saborMy first visit to Arte y Sabor was a delicious surprise. Although vegetarian and vegan friendly there are plenty of fish and meat dishes on offer, either as tapas or raciones. We especially loved the fresh spinach salad with goat cheese and the fabulous grilled presa that came with excellent chips (not something you find in Sevilla very often). The chicken couscous was tasty enough but the sesame-coated tuna suffered from too much sweet sauce. For me it was my first opportunity to try leche frita (fried milk) and this version, using a thin flaky pastry instead of the traditional breading, is the second dessert – ever, in the world – to win my heart. As in, I would probably want to eat a whole one on my own.

The décor is simple and attractive with large arched windows letting in lots of light and, as with most places along the Alameda, there is a nice terraza out on the pavement. The service was efficient though not exactly friendly. One other point of interest for visitors is that the kitchen is open all day.
