La Chunga

La Chunga is back! In fact, I actually hadn’t realised it was gone until it reappeared about a couple of weeks ago, this time being run by the Maribunda boys, chef Francis Balongo and Pablo Gabella.

Not a lot has changed style-wise. It has two smallish dining areas, one at each end of a ‘U’ shaped public space around the kitchen and bar, with lots of light and a charming modernist decor. There is also a small sidewalk terrace with tall tables.

The menu is small and focused on cold snacks, sandwiches and a few hot dishes. We loved the gildas with our vermouth and I especially like the grilled pork abanico. Will be back to try more soon.
