A little off my usual stamping grounds, Plato Plató is located in Porvenir, a short walk from María Luisa Park. The decor and general atmosphere are chic yet reserved, with light painted exposed brick inside, and a little terrace outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there’s a general good feeling to the place.
We really liked the grilled presa, croquetas and the socarrat, and the ensaladilla is above average. In general the traditional tapas fare better than anything “Asian”, which lack authentic flavours and textures. Tapas and wine prices are a little on the high side, but overall quality is good.
