Located just off the Alameda and a few doors down the street from its sister bar Duo Tapas, Sidonia has a slightly more casual menu and pretty much the same great wine list. I hadn’t been to Sidonia for a couple of years, so not surprisingly there have been a few changes. The main dining area has been completely revamped, with the bar removed to create more seating space, and new chalkpaint drawings and decorative tiles on the walls, but maintaining the slightly bohemian ambience.
The risottos are very well executed, if anything just a bit too al dente (still preferable to the soggy reheated stuff you find most other places). Pork with sauces remain tasty, though an otherwise pleasant experience was blotted by the fact that we were charged 2 euros for bread/service (after having sent the un-asked-for bread back), though to be fair it was removed without question when the error was pointed out.
