Friends (and now biz partners) Pablo Gabella & chef Francis Balongo, who previously worked together at Castizo, have opened their dream-come-true Marabunda, in the original central La Azotea location. It feels at once familiar yet new, a bright and airy space with a bar for tapas and a cosy dining area for larger plates.
The menu is “short and sweet” as so many are these days, but it’s also well thought out so there’s a good balance between starters, seafood and meat dishes. There are also daily specials so be sure to check those out. Loved the perfect matrimonio and super crispy panko peking duck croquetas. Meanwhile the bocata de solomillo al whisky borders on perfection. Great ambiance, friendly service and a good selection of national wines and beers. Well done, guys!
