Lola por Dios Alameda (sister bar to Lola Centro) has a prime location in the Alameda de Hercules and somehow both fits in and stands out in this buzzy barrio. There’s cosy tiled bar inside and an ample terrace out in the square.
Keeping it simple the menu offers good quality charcuterie and cheeses along with a selection of tasty traditional tapas. Be sure to try the whole deep-fried quail, either classic or spicy, and the “preñoa” de pringá is a gorgeous blend of texture and flavour. There are good local wines, sherry, vermouth and cold cold beer.
