D’Culto is a restaurant and tapas bar a little way out of the centre in the Buhaira (Nervión). The bar decor is modern and relaxed, with both bar seating and half a dozen high tables. The restaurant is attractive and there is an ample sidewalk terrace. Professional service and a decent wine list, with lots of sherry options.
The food is excellent, with the menu focused on fish and seafood. In fact, we haven’t had anything here that we didn’t love. From a fritos selection that includes one of the best cazón en adobo that I’ve had anywhere, followed by bacalao in squid ink tempura, a pavía of carabinero (one of the signature dishes – for good reason), and a tender tataki of presa Ibérica. The crispy fried aubergines are also delish. We have mostly stuck to tapas but there are daily specials and a wide selection of super fresh fish and shellfish sold by weight. Recommended.
