Comté

Local hostelero Manuel Aragón, who runs three other bars in town (Tribuna, Gallito and Brutal), opened Sevilla’s newest vinoteca opened last month. Housed in a stunning modernist building just off the Alfalfa, designed by famed architect José Espiau y Muñoz, the warm and inviting space is divided into a bar area in front with high tables with a cosy dining area in the back.

The menu features mostly abacería-style dishes, excellent for wine pairing, with a few daily specials that include soups, stews and other hot dishes. There are over 200 wines on offer, from all over Spain, with about 20 offered by the glass at any given time (that number rises to close 60 if you include sherry wines). Service is terrific, with very knowlegeable staff, which you would expect at at specialist wine bar. We spent a lovely January afternoon there and I am looking forward to going back. There are regular tastings that are announced on their instagram.
