El Pintón, located in the landmark Peyre building at the end of Francos Street, is a collaboration between Restaurante Zelai and the Second Room cocktail bar. The Zelai connection on its own would have ensured that I never set foot in the place, but I have always enjoyed the Second Room, and the owner is lovely, so I thought I’d give it a chance. The first thing you notice when you go in is that it’s very tastefully decorated and equipped. The main dining area is in a traditional courtyard with pillars, with a small annex at the back, a second dining room at the front with typical Sevillano tiling, and a terrace in the pedestrian street outside. Comfortable chairs, too, and generally attractive detailing of lights and decoration. Service was reasonably friendly and efficient.
But the food was hit and miss. Tasty ham and mustard croquettes, soggy noodles and presa, nice burger with half-cooked chips… general opinion was that the overall quality didn’t match the upmarket prices. On two visits were left a bit disappointed.

Hi, We were in Sevilla 2 weeks ago and stayed a few blocks from you.
We loved your restaurant . I think we ate there 4 times in the 3 days that we spent there.
Your white wine sangria is so good.
Our waitress said she would e-mail us the recipe . She did not do so.
We live in Aspen Colorado. I won’t give the secret away.
Would you mind sharing it with us
Thanks Mya and Lance Cote
Hi Mya & Lance. I’m afraid I am not associated with the restaurant, this is my personal website. Perhaps you could try leaving them a message on their FB page… https://www.facebook.com/-El-Pint%C3%B3n–834443003336237
Good luck!
