When Rafa Marinelli first opened El Puma Bar he promised that it would be Andalucía de cabo a rabo (Andalucía from top to bottom) offering tapas and wines with a distinct Andaluz accent chosen so that each bite or sip reminds you of the south. This is very much a “bar de barrio” and it has gained a loyal local clientele. The space is small and bright, with tall tables both inside and out on the side walk terrace, and a small dining area around the back.
There’s a short tapas menu with the focus on traditional dishes with a few daily specials on the chalkboard so check those out. The food is very good, regional white wines are lovely (there’s also a good selection of sherry and vermouth) and service is very friendly and welcoming.
