Bodeguita Iglesias

Updated March 2024

There’s a growing trend in Sevilla with both new and established bars and restaurants opting for a more traditional image and menu and Rocío and Diego Iglesias are on point with Bodeguita Iglesias (formerly Papirusa). Reopened this past summer with a classic sevillano look and a focus on local dishes, the Iglesias siblings offer us something both new and familar. The space is bright and pleasant with a long bar and high tables and stools inside. There’s also a side walk terrace out front.

The menu offers a range of classic tapas with a decent wine list that Diego tells me will be expanding. I especially liked the chocos fritos, cazón en adobo and carne con tomate. Traditional desserts are from Gollerias.

Open every day for breakfast until midnight with an all-day kitchen it is certainly a welcome addition to the neighbourhood and will fill a gap for both locals and visitors alike.
