The Barrio Santa Cruz, also known as the old Jewish quarter, extends from behind the Cathedral to the Puerta de la Carne, and is famous for its labyrinth of narrow streets and pretty little squares. It’s also the most touristy part of the city, and many of the bars and restaurants here reflect that, especially close to the Cathedral, but if you get off the main streets and start exploring there are some really great places for a bite to eat or to sit and people watch. Several of the city’s best traditional bars can be found here, and the combination of great food and perfect atmosphere is not to be missed.
