My friend Paco has been recommending this bar/restaurant to me for ages and today I finally went to have lunch there. It’s a bit out of the centre but we got on a couple of rental Sevici bikes and were there in about 15 minutes.

Being a Saturday during the holidays it was quite busy. There is a small bar area for tapas and a few tables in front of the bar. There is also quite a large dining area in the back. We managed to get the last free table in front of the bar and for about 45 euros had a very substantial lunch - a couple of very nice raciones and a quite decent bottle of rioja.

But … I have to say the service was rather cold and unfriendly, which my friend tells me is usually the case (though apparently the owner is quite pleasant and amicable). A pity, because for me the food is only one reason to frequent a particular place - a welcoming and friendly ‘ambientation’ is also very important. Anyhow, we’ll give the place a second chance and try out the bar for tapas some other time.
