I find Lasso Catorce almost endearingly faux-rustic (it’s less than three years old) and a welcome change from the tiresome attempts of other tapas bars to “out-trendy” each other these days. Nothing here is served on slate, there’s no bread in little sacks or cutlery in Hello Kitty pencil cases. The food is traditional Andalusian fare though there are a few twists, like cabrales cheese in the flamenquín and swapping presa for solomillo in their “al whisky”. A nice selection of wines and friendly efficient service make this a great place to stop off for a snack after shopping in the city centre, or for an unpretentious evening meal.
