This charming and cheerful tapas bar located at the far end of the Alameda serves up some very innovative and tasty dishes at very reasonable prices. You’ll find a two large blackboard wall menus – one for tapas and raciones, the other for wines – with a changing market menu. Specialities include the vegetable tempura and parmentier de carrilladas, along with traditional dishes like a tender pulpo a la gallega and huevos rotos with black pudding and truffle. Service can be slow, but it is friendly and there is a good wine list.
I was disappointed to see the addition of a 1€ service charge – per person! – during my last visit. I was told this was for the bread and olives and “everything”. This is a growing trend in Seville and is simply a blatant and unpleasant way of restaurants maximising their profits without actually giving the customer anything extra for that 1€. Just refuse to pay it – I did.
