La Bodega is a Plaza Alfalfa institution. First opened in 1985, the bar was taken over by its present owner in 2005 and underwent a major renovation in 2012. This included the installation of a full kitchen and a new menu (pretty much the same menu as at sister bars Bodega Dos De Mayo<\/a> and Casa La Viuda<\/a>, but this is my favourite of the three). It continues to be a very popular spot with both locals and visitors, with excellent value for money.<\/p>\n

The Iberian pork liver, served cold in a marinade of olive oil and cilantro, is exquisite. Also try the and tortillitas de bacalao (or anything bacalao, a house speciality). And check out the daily specials. Nice selection of wines by the glass and friendly bar service.<\/p>\n
