Rocala is part of the La Raza group and takes its name from its founder Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez Cala. In the autumn of 2020 it moved from its original location in the Gran Plaza to just off the Plaza Salvador, in the building that used to house Los Corales (La Raza’s first restaurant).<\/p>\n

The d\u00e9cor is reminiscent of dining establishments from the 40s and 50s in Sevilla. By contrast, the seasonal menus are modern takes on classic Andalusian dishes, with some international influences. I really liked their twist on a traditional gilda, swapping the usual chunk of cheese for a crispy cheese croquette. The presa lingot is slow cooked and tender with a gorgeous ginger and 5 spice sauce. The payoyo cheese cake comes slightly warm with blackberry ice cream and is a delight.<\/p>\n

There’s a good wine list, service is professional and you can also sit outside on the sidewalk terrace. Check opening times. At the time of writing Rocala was only open Thursday to Sunday, but things are constantly changing.<\/p>\n
