La Estrella, founded in 1939, is the less touristy sister bar of Cervecer\u00eda Giralda<\/a>, tucked just around the corner from busy Mateos Gago, and with a cosier and more laid-back ambiance. The menu features traditional tapas – I still think they make one of the best solomillo al whisky<\/em> in town – and quality in general is very good. The scorpion fish pat\u00e9 is also a favourite here.<\/p>\n

Aside from the bar area inside, there is also a dining room and a curious sidewalk terrace that runs along a small callej\u00f3n<\/em> next to the bar. Nice wines, efficient friendly service, and good chips too (that last one is not something I often say in Sevilla).<\/p>\n
