So pleased to see that my long-time pal Daniel de la Cueva and his partner Analí Alcantara have taken over the Orfeo Café Bar and made it their own. The cosy well-lit spot is filled with retro memorabilia and comfy seating and is open 8 to 8 every day for breakfast, tapas lunch and merienda (when Sevillanos indulge in cakes, coffees and cocktails).

Fresh bread, cakes and pastries arrive daily from local bakers and there is a good variety of coffees, 20 types of teas and infusions, juices and smoothies. Lactose or gluten intolerant? Vegetarian or vegan? Not a problem. There is something for everyone here. Lunchtime tapas include quality charcuterie and cheeses, a selection of tostas and sandwiches, and a daily stew. There is also a good selection of national and regional wines (including sherry), craft beer and cocktails. And with Dani at the helm, excellent friendly service is guaranteed.
