Non-Spanish cuisine is something of a rarity in Sevilla, but within its first year of opening Mano de Santo had acquired a reputation as a decent Mexican restaurant. The space itself has a modern, playful décor with pastel shades, offset by bright red bench-style seating, and a terrace outside on the busy Alameda. It’s a fun ambiance, and the service is good too, casual and friendly.

The food was what you might expect in a “typical” Mexican restaurant in Spain; plenty of tacos, quesadillas and enchaladas, all tasty enough, but a bit samey and somewhat lacking in authentic spiciness as an adaptation to local preferences. Also, the choice of crumbled Edam cheese on pretty much everything seemed odd. You can find Mexican beers (which I actually rather like) and Spanish craft beers, as well a good range of well-priced tequila and mezcal based cocktails. Loved the margarita! Overall okay, but I’d be more inclined to go back for the cocktails than the food.
