Open from 8 till 8, Otto is more of a breakfast and “merienda” snack bar than a tapas bar, specialising in bread and toasts with quality coffee and olive oils, but also serving pizzas, focaccias, cakes and pastries, cocktails and other goodies. Though the star of our particular show is definitely the house made bagel with a smoked salmon and cream cheese filling.

Nice location with a light, pleasant interior and a small terrace in the square outside. Staff are very friendly and helpful, though service can be a tad slow at times. This has easily become my new go-to place for breakfast.

With something of a trendy cum hippy ambiance, La Cacharrería fits right into the Calle Regina area, a place of boutiques and art spaces behind the Metropol Parasol. All-day breakfast is served inside at Singer sewing machine tables from a bygone age, or out on the small sidewalk terrace. The breakfast toast menu is actually a bit confusing, but there are plenty of topping options and a nice selection of artisanal breads, as well as yoghurt with fruit and muesli. Love the old Moorish style brick walls with coins balancing on the ledges, and all the antique bric-a-brac hanging everywhere. Also serves cakes and cocktails.
