Casa La Viuda (because of its location) is kind of the “tourist version” of the other members of the group, Bodega Dos de Mayo and La Bodega, and shares the house style and colours – a traditional décor that’s easy on the eye. There are both high and low tables in the dining area and stools along the bar. Outside there’s an ample terrace on the corner of two pedestrianised streets.

The menu is quite extensive (the same as its sister bars) with a focus on traditional dishes. The rice of the day is always good and be sure to check the daily specials. There is also a section on the menu devoted to bacalao and it’s one of the few places in town that still makes one of my favourite tapas: marinated grilled pork liver with onion and cilantro. A decent wine list and friendly service.
