UPDATE: Casa Antonio – Bar Los Caracoles closed his doors for good in the summer of 2020 after more than fifty years. I will keep this here as a tribute to this lovely family-run bar and the many wonderful food I had there over the years.

Now into the third generation of “Antonios”, for over 50 years this family-run restaurant has been serving up traditional Andalusian cooking, including snails in a peppery broth (a secret family recipe), along with great service and a very pleasant ambiance.

All warm wood and cosy inside, and a big buzzy terrace just off the Plaza Alfalfa. Very good value for money here. Aside from snails, they are also known for their brochettes: Argentinian beef and monkfish & king prawns. I come here when I want some simple homestyle cooking in a no-nonsense friendly atmosphere. Good wine too!
