El Cairo

Updated May 2018

El Cairo was the first restaurant opened by Juan Luís Salas Martínez back in 1977 – the Hostería Salas group now have two other restaurants, Asador Salas and Sevilla Bahía. All specialize in traditional Andalusian cuisine, with an emphasis on fish and seafood at El Cairo. There’s typical “taurino” decor at the bar, as well as two dining rooms (one upstairs, one on main floor) and a sidewalk terrace. I haven’t tried the restaurant menu, but the tapas are very good and the bar service is both professional and friendly. Probably the best sautéed chicken livers I have ever had, and you can’t go wrong with the fresh grilled and fried fish either.
