Pitacasso

pitacassoA small home-spun little bar next to the Feria Market, Pitacasso lives up to its name by featuring many variations of pita bread tapas with all kinds of fillings and sauces: falafel, hamburgers, chicken, cheese/bacon/tomato, salmon, fried aubergine, feta and olives, and the list goes on. There’s a small cheerful eating area in front of the open kitchen, and also a few tables out on the terraza. Inside, the walls are covered with art by local artists that are also for sale and that change monthly.

We enjoyed our falafels though felt they could have been a bit lighter and more flavourful. Likewise the sauces and salad seemed a bit uninspired, but it was all cheerfully served with a decent wine (and then later a taste of a very special manzanilla called Criaito) and we ended up warming to both the place and the people.
