El Caserío

Updated April 2019

caserio

Started by an Andalusian and a Catalán back in 1969, El Caserío has been sold twice since then and coming full circle, having been owned and run for the past 15 years by José María (Sevillano) and Ana (Barcelonesa). Open for lunch only you’ll find basic and delicious homestyle comfort food here served in a traditional atmosphere – feels a bit like walking into a village bar.

Tapas at the bar range from 2.50 – 2.80€ (prices haven’t changed in years) and include lots of stews along with a few cold dishes and fritos. At the tables (which are almost always booked for lunch) you can get raciones (larger plates). Favourite dishes are the homemade meatballs in gravy, super tender carrilladas and spinach with garbanzos. But to be honest, we haven’t had a dish here that we didn’t love.
