Porvenir is becoming quite the trendy neighbourhood for “designer tapas” these days and so it’s both refreshing and reassuring to still find somewhere reasonably-priced, serving up great traditional Andalusian fare. El Aceite has been going strong for about ten years now. Open 7 days a week, the kitchen doesn’t close midday until 16.30 (pretty much everywhere else in the barrio shuts down at 16.00 sharp). Between 16.30 – 20.00 you can still get a selection of cold tapas, jamón, cheese, etc. El Aceite is comfortable and unpretentious, with great service and quite wonderful tapas.
