Founded in 1850 this very unique and charismatic bar offers an interesting selection of wines and traditional tapas. Various cheeses and cured meats are offered either as tapas or montaditos (small filled buns), along with tortilla and “chicharrones” (fried pig belly). I love the bacalao with salmorejo on toast and the imperial anchovies are a house speciality, but if you’re not sure what to order just ask the chef to make up a selection for you. The front section of the bar has a storefront window facing the street, and just around the corner you’ll find the side entrance to the back bar with its enormous tinajas. Definitely worth a visit.
