Luz de Mar

luz de mar

Luz de Mar is the second venture from the Tradevo group. It’s located in a not very attractive area between the Puente de Bomberos and the “temporary” Puerta de la Carne Market installation, but inside it’s very light and pleasant, and they also have a sidewalk terrace. Some of the Tradevo “hits” are on the menu here, including the exceptional boquerones al limón. Seafood is prominent on the menu so be sure to take your waiter’s advice on what is fresh in that day. I didn’t, and missed out on what looked like an amazing fried whole turbot (though I got a photo of it). We loved the swordfish tataky, pulpo al ajillo and fab squid “noodles” with bolognese… less happy with croquetas that arrived still half-frozen, and a very bland boletus carpaccio. And although I’m not usually an oyster fan, the ones here (served with vermouth foam and lime) are amazing. Hot crusty bread was served with olives and some lovely local olive oil, also lovely wines by the glass were recommended by our attentive waiters.
