Porta Rossa

Updated January 2018

I first discovered Porta Rossa (almost 20 years ago) at their original location in Pastor y Landero, a wonderfully cosy spot. Later they moved to larger and brighter digs just around the corner, but maintained the comfortable ambiance. The owners are very ‘hands-on’ and give the place a very personal quality that is sometimes missing in Sevilla. All the pasta is made on the premises, all ingredients are as fresh as can be.

Personal favourites include the rocket salad, mixed cheese & cured meat plates and a wonderful ravioli stuffed with pinenuts & seta mushrooms and served in a cream sauce with nutmeg (it tastes like Christmas!). The beef tenderloin in a black peppercorn and vodka sauce is divine. Be sure to call ahead and reserve a table.
