I love taking people here when they first come to Sevilla. Fabulous fried hake, grilled tuna collar (morillo), spinach with garbanzos … all in a small and cosy traditional bar with terrific Feria and Taurino ‘ambientation’. Or sit out on the terrace which runs alongside the building in a narrow pedestrianised street.
It can often be stuffed full of tourists because of the location and “trip advisor” mentions, but don’t let that put you off. Just as many locals go there on a regular basis too. Great food, a decent wine list and wonderful waiters who are very friendly and helpful.

Yes – that’s the one! Hope to be there again at least once more in my lifetime.
For no particular reason, this is one of mine and S’s favourite tapa bars. It has a delightful atmosphere, and the staff are always wonderful – whether simply serving the two idiot Brits in the corner or on one very memorable occasion providing S with a ‘grande cerveza’. A lovely place to eat, and a great introduction to tapas – traditional without having the ‘organized chaos’ of some other bars.
