Casa Roman

This is where it all started, on a spring day back in 1997. I took some pics of our lunch that afternoon and Sevilla Tapas was born. Five years later Casa Roman is still one of my favourite tapas bars (as it had been for years before). The tapas and setting are very traditional and they serve up some of the best jamón and caña de lomo in town. I also love the fabulous FAT olives and delicious fried bacalao (salt cod). The grilled pork ribs are also very tasty. Very friendly service, nice selection of wines by the glass, and although situated in a very touristy area you’ll find plenty of locals there too.

The views from the terrace are gorgeous … lovely street scenery as well as a beautiful square full of orange trees just in front. Heavenly when the azahar is in blossom.

The presa is to die for. One of my favourite meals in Sevilla, without doubt.

But those damn hobit stools! Actually they are not too bad, but in about ten years or so I won’t be able to deal with them.
