Although the name on the wall says Bodega Santa Cruz this bar is known by all the locals as Las Columnas. A great place for cheap & cheerful tapas. Very popular with locals and also foreign students. As there are very few tables inside people tend to spill out into the street, eating and drinking and chatting. Some of the best tapas are the espinacas con garbanzos, tortillitas de bacalao, the daily lunchtime ‘arroz’ special, and various stews.

I love trying out local tapas bars in each city I visit. I find that each one offers something that is distinctly unique. I also like visiting places that are popular with locals to get more of a feel for the area I’m in. I’ll be sure to give this place a try on my next visit.
