virgen de los dolores – santa cruz

This video isn’t much to look at, but it’s one that goes right past my bedroom balconies and they always play my favourite Semana Santa marcha after stopping in front of my house around 1.00 o’clock in the morning. Last year when I heard it I was in bed, too sick on chemo to get up and watch it, and I felt so achingly sad wondering if I would ever hear it again. So this year I decided to tape it for posterity.

Update: Thanks to a comment left on my YouTube page I have found out that this marcha is called La Madrugá by Abel Moreno. How cool to know this after so many years of wondering!

    Hey!

cool I saw the same processions in Bilbao. Do the people here also wear hats like they are from the kloekloeksclan? Very scary if you see all those people walking up to you at 6 in the morning! The day after we filmed another procession passing by the window of our hostel. If I find it I can send it to you so you can enjoy more processions :D !

Holy Cow! You live RIGHT THERE next to “La Giralda”? Are you fortunate enough to have an elevator in your old building? Hope so. Wow, I’m envious! Great video and what beautiful music too!

Elevator? Air-conditioning? Balcony doors that close properly? Ojalá!

But yeah, it is a great location. :)
